Searching for New Methods of Image Processing for Medicine Integrated Virtual Human Bodies with Actual Human Bodies

Kensaku Mori

Associate Professor, Department of Media Science

He has worked out researches on processing methods of three dimensional images in the field of medicine including CT and MRI images on computer from three perspectives such as recognition, understanding, and display. He has targeted to develop various image processing systems for medicine such as computer supporting image diagnosis systems, surgical operation simulation systems, and navigation systems during the operation. He has researched basic methods of image recognition, understanding, and display which are necessary for those systems He has developed these advanced image processing systems for medicine by utilizing information of both actual human bodies and virtual human bodies formed from three dimensional images of a human body.
