Based on a foundation of computational and experimental methods in cognitive science, including cognitive psychology, computer science, and linguistic science, this course aims to clarify mental activities related to diverse human cognitive activities from an information processing perspective, with a particular focus on issues related to human cognition, memory, and problem solving in thought.
Research themes include the following key words: multimodal integrated perception, cognitive semantics, communication; mental lexicon, meaning of language and action, memory and emotion, formation and understanding of action, verbal and non-verbal communication; scientific discovery, creativity and insight, problem-solving, learning sciences; learning, memory, evolution, development, comparative cognition.
